Cottbus Branitzer Park

Cottbus or Chóśebuz in Lower Sorbian is a city of around 100.000 inhabitants at the river Spree approx. 120km southeast of Berlin. Situated not far from the city centre lies Branitz castle settled within a wonderful park of the name of its landscape gardener, Fürst Pückler Park Branitz. Here you have the chance to not only visit a castle but also to discover two rather green pyramids.

  • How to get there: Take Tram line No. 2 from Cottbus Central Station to Sandow Station. From there it is a 30-minute walk through the park to the castle.
  • Tip: From/To Sandow Station you could also use the narrow gauge park railway which takes you past the zoo close to the castle. Please see operational timetable before visiting, an extra ticket is needed.
